Re-Story is a new social enterprise by ReLove, a registered charity based in Sydney. Our curated collection of authentic, pre-loved designer furniture is handpicked for discerning design enthusiasts who not only value expert craftsmanship but also sustainability and social responsibility. Role Summary
The Showroom & Digital Merchandising Associate is a dynamic and hands-on role perfect for a design student looking to gain real-world experience. You will be a key player in bringing the Re-Story brand to life, both in our physical showroom and on our e-commerce platform. This is a unique opportunity to build a portfolio and directly apply your design skills in a professional setting, from styling the showroom and helping with events to curating our online collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Showroom & Customer Experience:
- Provide a premium level of customer service, engaging customers with the unique story of each piece.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and showroom presentation.
- Confidently handle sales transactions and daily retail operations.
- Coordinate, supervise, and support our team of dedicated volunteers.
- Digital Merchandising & E-commerce:
- Create compelling product listings for our e-commerce platform, including writing engaging copy and descriptions.
- Photograph and edit high-quality images of new inventory to showcase products online.
- Ensure the digital store's aesthetic aligns with the look and feel of our showroom.
- Manage the online product catalog, keeping it accurate and up-to-date.
- Events & Activations:
- Assist in the planning, setup, and styling of in-store events and brand activations.
- Engage with guests and support event activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently studying design, visual merchandising, or a related creative field.
- A strong passion for interior design and an eye for aesthetics and detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
- Experience with or a strong aptitude for digital platforms and photography.
- A genuine interest in sustainability and social responsibility.

Volunteering
ReLove - (Alexandria - Monday-Friday)
- organise and style the ReLove Free Store
- assist clients as they choose how they would like to furnish their homes, packing soft furnishings and kitchen items
- move furniture into our clients' homes, including carrying furniture and household items, assembling furniture and making beds (we have trained delivery staff to lift heavy furniture)
ReStory by ReLove- (Surry Hills & Alexandria - Monday-Saturday)
- style, photograph, price and upload product to the ReStory by ReLove website (with support from our ReStory team on hand)
- style and help customers at the ReStory Pop-up community space at The Kirk (we have trained ReStory staff close by to help)
Corporate groups
- We welcome corporate groups looking for a meaningful team day volunteering with ReLove.
- Our typical corporate volunteering teams are around 10-15 people, however, we have hosted corporate teams of up to 100 people.
